Jacqueline is an esteemed physiotherapist and pilates teacher. She began studying pilates in 1999 with body control pilates in London.
“I view pilates exercises as the building blocks to movement. Pilates exercises, originally developed by Joseph Pilates, target the deeper muscles that literally ‘hold us in place’ and support our joints, thus underpinning the body.
The pilates method can result in an overall feeling of wellbeing with improved posture, balance and motor control but it can also help to reduce stress and anxiety by learning efficient breathing and relaxation techniques”.
Jacqueline’s move to Australia to work at Brisbane Royal Children’s Hospital cemented her understanding of normal movement and this led to further studies in Australia in physiotherapy which further inspired her to learn pilates.
I have 34 years experience of working with patients in NHS hospitals, private practice and elite athletes in sport, specifically GB Rowing at Athens Olympics in 2004. I am passionate that pilates should be available to everyone which is why I have set up Jacqueline Knox Pilates online. Whether you are an elite athlete or someone just wanting to learn the basics I hope that you come and move with me and learn to be a stronger version of yourself, empowered by a deeper knowledge and understanding of your body.
